Jack White Shares New Music, “Servings And Portions From My Boarding House Reach”

Jack White recently tried his hand at writing a children’s book, but that doesn’t mean he’s tabled his music career. He revealed over the summer that he was recording his third solo album, and today, we get to hear bits and pieces of what he’s been working on. Instead of a singular track, White has released what seems to be a collection of sound bites from multiple different tracks on the album, dubbed “Servings and Portions From My Boarding House Reach.”

White previously promised that this album would be “a bizarre one,” and from the get-go, he has no issue keeping to his word. “Servings and Portions” features elements from a wide range of genres, from arbitrary ramblings to jazzy piano lines, to the garage-y, rock ‘n’ roll shredding White is known and loved for. Accompanying the sound collage is a visual collage featuring a hodgepodge of varying still and moving images, all culminating in a frame at the end that reads “Boarding House Reach,” perhaps revealing the title of his forthcoming record.

The record is a follow-up to 2014’s Lazaretto. Listen to his new music below, and stay tuned for an album announcement soon, hopefully.
