Jenny Lewis Brings “Wasted Youth” to The Late Show

Indie-rock mainstay Jenny Lewis performed her effortlessly lighthearted single “Wasted Youth” with her band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night.

Lewis sits at the center of an eight-person ensemble, dressed in identical, Lewisian uniforms, and sings behind a piano and neon-pink microphone, wearing a Bump-It atop her head like a crown. The stage is colorful and bright, all blues, pinks and LED lights lining acrylic telephones and drum skins.

“Wasted Youth” appears on Lewis’s latest solo album, On The Line, released in March via Warner Records. The record ranked #3 on our list of the 10 best albums of that month and #8 on our list of the best albums of 2019 so far.

The musician recently added a string of new headlining dates to her forthcoming North American tour in support of On The Line. You can revisit the complete list of dates here.
