Watch Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas’ New Video for “Don’t Take My Man to Idaho”
Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas have been touring heavily in support of their debut album, 2014’s Secret Evil, charming fans and critics alike with their fiery, soulful pop-rock. Now, they’ve released a new video for “Don’t Take My Man to Idaho” in anticipation of two big festival performances this weekend.
The video opens with Hernandez rejecting a call from an inmate at Ada County Jail in Boise. It’s funny when taken at face value, but even more so with the knowledge that it’s based off at true story. “That is actually my boyfriend calling me from jail the first week we started dating,” Hernandez said of her now-fiance, the Growlers’ Kyle Straka.
Jessica & the Deltas will play at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Friday, followed by a performance at Osheaga in Montreal on Sunday. They have a few other tour dates lined up through the fall, including stops at LouFest in St. Louis and Austin City Limits, before returning to the studio to work on a follow-up to Secret Evil.
