Joe Perry Hospitalized Following Onstage Cardiac Arrest
Photos by Kevork Djansezian, Gustavo Caballero/GettyThere’s some scary news out of Brooklyn, as last night guitarist Joe Perry of legendary hard-rock band Aerosmith collapsed backstage after suffering a cardiac arrest at the Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk.
Perry was playing with his new Hollywood Vampires project, which also features Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper. After stumbling during the show’s first song, Perry sat on the drum kit and continued playing, then walked off stage and collapsed. While members of the NYPD and FDNY helped Perry off the stage, the Hollywood Vampires continued the show.
However, as of this morning, the NYPD has listed Perry as “in stable condition.”
NYPD: Joe Perry was listed in stable condition at Coney Island Hosp. Transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Hosp. for unspecified reason.
