Nashville duo Johnnyswim have released a new single, “The Last Time,” the third track ahead of their forthcoming album Moonlight, out April 19 via Britannia Row Recordings. Moonlight will be the third studio album from power couple Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez.
The new single features the smooth stylings of blue-eyed soul legend Michael McDonald, as he provides back-up vocals while the now-married couple recall their first encounter. “It’s actually about the first time Abner and I saw each other,” Sudano recently told Paste. “He said to the girl sitting next to him, ‘That’s the girl I’m going to marry.’ And the girl next to him—who was his date—said, ‘Well, you better go talk to her. And I think this is over.’”
Johnnyswim have also announced a new tour that will kick off in early May and wind down in mid-June after 28 shows across the States. See all the stops the duo will make below.
