Joyer Embrace the Doom and Sludge on New Single “Silver Moon”

It’s been two years since we last heard from Brooklyn duo Joyer, who released their third LP Perfect Gray in 2021. Brothers Nick and Shane Sullivan have returned with “Silver Moon,” a brash, dense and melodic piece of slowcore. Through Philly-based label Julia’s War Recordings, Joyer are writing their way into something bigger, pivoting towards a fearless fit of doom laced with ambition.

About the track, the band says: “‘Silver Moon’ felt like a big change in approach for us as we shift to heavier and more energetic songwriting. The song touches on overcoming personal shortcomings and feelings of inferiority while making an effort to appreciate smaller aspects of life. This combined with the aggressive feel of the song makes it a really cathartic and satisfying one to play. It was written kind of a while ago and has been part of our live sets as of late. It’s definitely the most fun song for us to perform so we’re really excited to share the studio version of it.”
