King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Share New Song, “Cyboogie”
Photo by Frazer Harrison/GettyKing Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have indeed returned with a Feb. 1 release, a nearly seven-minute-long disco-pop romp titled “Cyboogie.” The track is accompanied by a bizarre video directed by Jason Galea, in which the band play synths in red jumpsuits and helmets.
“Cyboogie” is set to receive a physical release as a limited-edition 7” later this month, along with another new track titled “Acarine.” The news comes after King Gizzard tweeted a teaser for new music earlier this week with stills of frontman Stu Mackenzie from the “Cyboogie” video.

While 2018 didn’t see any new music from the Melbourne psych rockers, they spent the year reissuing their first five albums and touring almost constantly, with a headlining slot at the Desert Daze festival and three sold-out nights at Brooklyn Steel under their belts. 2017 was a different story entirely and found King Gizzard releasing a whopping five full-length albums on Flightless Records.
