L7 Announce Their First Album Since 1999

Los Angeles grunge four-piece L7 are back with their first new album in 19 years and they’re releasing it via a PledgeMusic campaign. The exclusive items being offered through the campaign include signed vinyl, t-shirts tote bags, towels and more.

L7 released their first new music in quite a while late last year, the Trump protest anthem “Dispatch From Mar-a-Lago,” and another new single, “I Came Back to Bitch,” in February.

The band’s recent documentary, L7: Pretend We’re Dead, came out last October, which showed highlights of the band in the grunge-obsessed American of the ‘80s and ‘90s. The band rose out of the the punk, metal, hair band and riot grrrl scenes, and because they were so closely aligned with social and political causes, it’s no wonder they’re reemerging at such a contentious time for the country.

The band opened up about their breakup in 2001, citing financial reasons for the split. “There comes a time when you’re approaching [a certain] age and it’s like, “Oh, fuck. Well, shit. I don’t have much to show for it financially,” the band said.

The band also announced a handful of U.S. tour dates in April. Watch the new album trailer and check out L7’s upcoming tour dates below. You can preorder their forthcoming album via PledgeMusic here.
