LCD Soundsystem’s Destination Music Festival Beach Vibes Has Been Canceled

Beach Vibes, I love you, but you’re bringing me down.

Recently reunited dance-rockers LCD Soundsystem announced not long ago that they were planning on curating and headlining a music festival on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Beach Vibes was going to include two LCD sets, plus performances from Hot Chip, Run the Jewels, Holy Ghost! and more, all scheduled for Jan. 27-29. Alas—this is not happening.

The Beach Vibes website now consists of nothing but a statement explaining the cancellation of the “destination event,” which “was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned.” Fortunately for fans who took the plunge on the fest’s “all-inclusive packages,” the notice also mentions that they “will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses.” If you’re one of those unfortunate fans, you should expect to hear from the organizers at CID Presents soon.

Find the full cancellation notice below, and both the Beach Vibes poster and Paste Cloud audio of LCD beneath that so you can at least look and listen wistfully, imagining what might have been.

Beach Vibes, a destination event produced by CID Presents, has been canceled. The event was originally slated for January 27 – 29, 2017 in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike. Therefore, canceling the weekend-long event is in the best interest of all involved.

Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days.
