Reports Say LCD Soundsystem Canceled Asian Tour to Work on New Album

LCD Soundsystem are currently working on their first album since 2010’s excellent This is Happening, and it seems the recording process has made a casualty of their Asian tour.

The New York-based band, recently reunited after “retiring from the game” in 2011, were scheduled to begin said tour in November at the Clockenflap Festival in Hong Kong. In a Facebook post, Clockenflap organizers announced LCD had called off their performance:

Regrettably, we have some unfortunate news to share, as due to studio scheduling conflicts related to their new album, LCD Soundsystem have had to cancel their upcoming Asian tour at the end of the year, now including their appearance at Clockenflap 2016. We are as disappointed as you are with this news. We wish them all the best with their recording and look forward to welcoming them to HK at another time.

LCD have yet to comment on the cancellation. Their Asian tour had not yet been announced, per FACT, and nor has the title of the band’s forthcoming album, the existence which was first unveiled in January. The album is expected out later this year.
