Lemonade Could Land Beyoncé Her First Emmy

Music News

When Lemonade premiered on Saturday night, it was an event. It doesn’t feel too early to call Beyoncé’s hour-long visual album iconic. HBO, which aired the special special (not a typo), has submitted Lemonade for Emmy consideration in the Variety Special category, E! News reports.

Beyoncé has already been nominated for two Emmys for her 2013 Super Bowl XLVII halftime show performance and for her 2015 On the Run Tour concert special with Jay Z, which also aired on HBO. Time will tell whether the third time is the charm for Beyoncé, who is already the recipient of a whopping 20 Grammys.

Nomination voting begins June 13 and ends June 27 at 10 p.m. PST. Nominations for the 67th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced live during a press conference on July 14.
