Stream Leon Bridges’ Sophomore Album, Good Thing

Two-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Leon Bridges released his sophomore album, Good Thing, on Friday via Columbia Records. The R&B musician’s eagerly anticipated album is now available in both physical and digital download formats via the artist’s website.

Good Thing is the follow-up to Bridges’ Gold-certified debut album Coming Home, whose single “Lisa Sawyer” made it to the top of our 50 best songs list for 2015.

Bridges previewed his most recent album with three singles: “Bad Bad News,” “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand” and “Beyond.” The first two tracks were released alongside their accompanying music videos, directed by Natalie Rae.

Bridges collaborated with Coming Home producers Niles City Sound to helm his latest project. A press statement reveals that Good Thing was born out of a line in the song “Bad Bad News” that says, “They say that I was born to lose, but I made a good good thing, out of bad bad news”. As an up-and-coming artist, Bridges began working as a dishwasher as he struggled through the open-mic scene in his native Fort Worth, Texas. From these humble beginnings, Bridges grew to become a household name in R&B, gaining two Grammy nominations and performing at the White House for President Obama.

Now a more experienced artist, Bridges returns to give fans an album that pushes the envelope of what R&B is while staying true to the musician’s signature style. Bridges’ story is interwoven into the album through deeply personal tracks like “Forgive You” and “Georgia to Texas.”

Bridges is now set to embark on an extensive world tour in support of his new album. The tour kicks off with the Good Thing record release show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 5. Bridges will then continue his run across the world through Nov. 17, sharing the stage in select shows with acts such as Harry Styles, Zac Brown Band and Masego, to name a few.
