Lightning Dust Release New Single “Devoted To,” Announce Album

Vocalist Amber Webber and drummer Josh Wells exited their well-known stoner-rock outfit Black Mountain in 2016 to focus on their own artistic growth as a duo. During their Black Mountain days, the pair formed a sub-group called Lightning Dust, which ditched their parent band’s classic-rock vibes for poppier, more electronic arrangements.
After a six-year absence, Lightning Dust are back, no longer a sub-group but a fully independent entity. And their new single, “Devoted To,” marks a striking break with what came before. It sounds like the Stranger Things soundtrack meets a freak-folk band, and even that doesn’t do the song’s ominous mystery justice.
Take a six-minute journey with “Devoted To” below. Don’t forget to check out the album art and a tracklist for the duo’s newly announced album Spectre, set for release Oct. 4 on Western Vinyl, and tour dates for Lightning Dust further down.
