Little Dragon and Kali Uchis Ask “Are You Feeling Sad?” on New Single

Little Dragon have a long history of providing incredible guest verses, from Yukimi Nagano’s excellent additions to SBTRKT’s “Wildfire” to Gorillaz’s “Empire Ants.” Perhaps realizing it’s their turn to receive a great feature, Little Dragon recruited Kali Uchis to appear on their new single “Are You Feeling Sad?” The group appear to be big fans of the pop singer, saying of the collaboration:

We are super excited Kali features on this track. All of a sudden, at the end of last year, this version appeared in our emails like a beautiful Christmas gift. She put her twist on it and gave the track an amazing energy. Did we mention we also love her?!

The track comes after the lead single “Hold On” for Little Dragon’s sixth studio album New Me, Same Us. Channeling Uchis’ effortlessly cool and soulful persona, the track plays with R&B and loungey sounds to accommodate the singer. Nagano sounds right at home next to Uchis’ voice, both providing restless croons across the track. Kali Uchis released a single, “Solita,” back in December and seems to be working on her sophomore album now. She also recently made a guest appearance in Thundercat’s video for “Dragonball Durag” alongside the HAIM sisters.
