Loretta Lynn Suffers Stroke

Loretta Lynn was hospitalized in Nashville Friday after suffering a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., according to a statement posted on her website. The good news is, she’s “responsive and expected to make a full recovery.”

“Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating” the statement said. “Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed.” Lynn had 25 dates scheduled on her tour of the Midwest and South, beginning Saturday night in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and wrapping up Nov. 18 in Renfro Valley, Ky.

Wouldn’t It Be Great, Lynn’s second album in as many years, is set for an Aug. 18 release on Legacy Recordings. Recorded at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tenn., with producers Patsy Lynn Russell and John Carter Cash, it includes new versions of “Don’t Come Home A Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind)’ and her signature “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”
