Watch M.I.A.’s Explosive Video for Her New Track “Go Off,” Featuring Skrillex
Photo by Taylor Hill/GettyLess than a day after announcing her new album, AIM, M.I.A. dropped a new track from the album, slated for a Sept. 9 release.
The new song, “Go Off,” premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show and features Skrillex and Blaqstarr. A day later, M.I.A. also released her self-directed music video for the track, which includes clips of explosions in barren desert landscapes under a watermark that reads, “MIA go off.”
In an interview with Mac, during which she debuted “Go Off,” M.I.A. said that AIM would likely be her last album, but that she hopes to continue making new music following it. She described “Go Off” as her “cleanest” album, saying, “I just wanted it to be happy. There’s no complaints on it. There’s another side to me completely, I don’t know if people know that.”
“Go Off” is the second song from AIM. She previously released “Borders” in November, which proceeded the release of the music video in February. Watch the “Go Off” video above.
