Other newcomers include Dominic Fike, Alina Baraz, Jay Critch, Melii, Buddy, IDK and Angelica Vila. They will join previously announced artists like Cardi B, Travis Scott and Anderson .Paak.
Curated by Jay-Z, the eighth annual festival is set for Labor Day weekend, running Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 in Philadelphia. The festival will also be live-streamed on Tidal.
Like in past years, part of the festival’s profits will benefit charity partners. This year’s charities are ACLU of Pennsylvania, the fest’s official charity partner, and the REFORM Alliance, a nonprofit that advocates for criminal justice reform.
Lil Uzi Vert will be heading home to North Philly to perform at the festival with two recently released new songs, “Sanguine Paradise” and “That’s a Rack,” under his belt. Uzi Vert told a Miami concert crowd earlier this week that his forthcoming album, Eternal Atake, is finished, giving him an array of new tracks to choose from for his Made in America appearance.
Rising indie hip-hop darling Lizzo will join Uzi Vert off the heels of her latest album Cuz I Love You (on which rap legend and fellow Made in America lineup addition Gucci Mane was featured), which debuted in April at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. Lizzo also collaborated with Charli XCX on the fizzy bop “Blame It on Your Love” earlier this week.
Made in America, known for its eclectic mix of hip-hop, rock, pop, R&B and EDM, was heavy on hip-hop and light on indie-rock representation with its initial lineup announcement, but the new announcement has a true indie ambassador in the darkly bubbly indie-pop band Charly Bliss.
