Maggie Rogers Keeps ‘Em Coming with Third Single “On + Off”

After garnering attention and acclaim last year for her song “Alaska,” along with its follow-up “Dog Years,” singer/songwriter/producer Maggie Rogers is poised to capitalize on her success. Today she’s released a third single, “On + Off,” which serves as precursor to an EP due out next month, and she just embarked on her first national tour with a performance on The Tonight Show on the books, and plans to hop over to Europe towards the end of February. She’ll also be playing at this year’s SXSW.
While Rogers’ past singles felt like she was giving an electronic and R&B edge to her folky sensibilities (she started off as a banjo player), “On + Off” is Rogers doing pop, and doing it better than most. There are hints of Sia in the chorus, but the song retains that touch of atmospheric minimalism that made “Alaska” such a standout. Rogers is batting three for three right now, and the signs don’t point to her letting up.
Check out “On + Off” below, and find out where you can see Maggie Rogers on tour beneath that. She’ll appear on The Tonight Show on Feb. 20.
