Behold the Digital Dystopia of Majetic’s “Phantom Life” Video
The video features digital representations of Oakland

Club Dread was a sort of transition album for songwriter and producer Justin Majetich. What had previously been a collaborative band project morphed into something more solitary this time around. That shift is illustrated in “Phantom Life,” a quiet, insular track that doubles as both an existential cry and an invective against gentrifiers. “Oakland rattles in a trunk,” Majetich sings over a Google Maps-esque video of skyscrapers sprouting from the Oakland ground.
Majetic will be performing on Jan. 24, 2019, at Baby’s All Right for the Winspear Review.
