Meg Stalter to make her popstar debut this summer

Yesterday, comedian, actress, and now pop singer Meg Stalter crashed her own lookalike contest. The Too Much star arrived at the makeshift stage in Bushwick’s Maria Hernandez Park, revealing that the contest was merely a vehicle for her to announce her pop music pivot. Dressed in a pink wig and pink-and-black lingerie set, Stalter gave an impromptu live performance of “Prettiest Girl in America,” the lead single from her forthcoming debut album, Crave.

Stalter roasted the contest winners, none of whom could hold a candle to her, the self-proclaimed “Prettiest Girl in America.” “I’m the prettiest girl in America / But that don’t make me a bitch,” goes Stalter’s Auto-Tuned Valley Girl drawl over an electroclash breakdown. A bimbofied piece of hyperpop about the struggles of being hotter and richer than everybody else, “Prettiest Girl” features some laugh-out-loud lines like “Do you know how hard it is to go to a restaurant / and know that you could buy the whole restaurant?” The heavily-produced novelty pop track feels like a spiritual successor to the viral “Hot Problems” by Double Take, its brashness and dumb-girl comedy in line with the likes of Ayesha Erotica and Slayyyter.

Fans might also recognize the song’s title from seeing it printed on the top Stalter wore during her 2025 Colbert interview. Now, she’s repurposed the phrase to announce her musical rebrand and tell us all about the difficulties that come with having “an A-plus body and my daddy’s yacht.” Bimbo Summit, here she comes.
