Inaugural Mondo.NYC Festival & Summit Announces Final Lineup

Music News Mondo.NYC

The new festival Mondo.NYC just announced its final lineup for next week’s mass of shows. 156 artists hailing from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and Israel will perform over a five-day period across Brooklyn and Manhattan. Notable performers include CymcoLé, Downtown Boys, Angel Olsen, Kathryn Gallagher and Opus Orange.

Mondo.NYC aims to bring together actors from myriad sectors of the music world—musicians, fans, technological innovators, and business people—to “bridge the gap” between them. The idea is to give emerging artists “a unique opportunity to showcase their talent to top industry executives and music fans,” according to a festival spokeswoman.

Performances will occur at night, with the daytime saved for panels featuring speakers from the music and entertainment industries taking place on the NYU campus. Bob Boilen, creator of NPR’s “All Songs Considered” and “Tiny Desk Concert Series,” will moderate the speaker events.

The festival will take place from Wednesday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Sept. 18. Ticket prices range from $99 to $349, including student discounts. Buy tickets, check out the full performer lineup, and listen to samples of the artists’s music at the Mondo.Day website here. Look for festival updates on Twitter here and Facebook here.
