EXCLUSIVE: Mother Tongues Unveil “Only You”

Mother Tongues, a Toronto band currently capturing the hearts of many, are back with another single from their forthcoming debut album Love In A Vicious Way. “Only You” is an alchemy of dream-pop and shoegaze that bends into an industrial, digitized dance paean that’s cerebral, psychedelic, gothic and gentle. The band, fronted by vocalist/bassist Charise Aragoza and guitarist/vocalist Lukas Cheung, are one of the most-exciting up-and-coming acts—and this fresh new entry, alongside previous singles “Worm Day” and “A Heart Beating,” only solidify their blooming, buoyant starpower.

Cheung says of “Only You”: “This song is an ode to all the things we love about the 1990’s/early 2000’s. We’re hoping The Wachowskis make another The Matrix sequel so we can make it onto the soundtrack.”
