Mt. Joy’s Second Album, Rearrange Us, Is Coming

Mt. Joy have been busy.

The indie-rock group announced Wednesday their second full-length studio album, Rearrange Us, is coming June 5 via Dualtone Records, and released two of its songs, as well as the full tracklist.

Rearrange Us follows Mt. Joy’s 2018 eponymous debut album and a currently running tour with The Lumineers, and second leg with Rainbow Kitten Surprise, which will run until August.

The band released lead singles “Rearrange Us” and “Every Holiday” in late 2019, and newest tracks “Strangers” and “Let Loose” Wednesday. They’ll be performing “Strangers” on Late Night with Seth Meyers Feb. 27.

Since their emergence as a group out of singer-songwriter Matt Quinn’s bedroom, the five-member collaborative Mt. Joy have blended indie rock with folk and synth on often contemplative tracks. Rearrange Us is set to continue and amend that tradition; a press release describes the album as “about finding ways to work past one’s emotional and mental struggles with intentionality,” promising experimentation with psychedelic, choral and synth sounds.
