See Nasty Cherry Unfiltered in New Music Video for “Live Forever”

Charli XCX-approved pop group Nasty Cherry returns with another attitude-filled track. “Live Forever” (co-written with Charli and produced by Justin Raisen) is a percussive, ‘80s-influenced treat. Deadpan verses lead into a half-shouted chorus—“Try! To escape! You make me wanna live forever.” The band describes the cut as “unconfined, unrefined and self-assured.” So, it’s a Nasty Cherry track through and through.

A complementing music video captures that spirit well, following the girls as they move through an arcade, goof around in an amusement park and get (fake) tattoos. Our main takeaway is we’d love a night out with the band, honestly.

Nasty Cherry member Georgia Somary—who directed the video, edited by Matt Copson—explains the low-budget inspiration in a statement:

The video shows a less filtered side of the band … I wanted all of us to be seen as we are. We just went to a theme park for my birthday, ate a ton of fried pickles and filmed most of it there on our phones, as well as in sessions, and at [fellow bandmate] Gabriette’s apartment over two days.

Up next for the group is headlining NME’s Girls to the Front club night in London Sept. 23 at Shacklewell Arms. Even better, Nasty Cherry’s debut EP is on the way; we can expect that sometime this fall.
