Watch Paramore’s Silky-Smooth Cover of Drake’s “Passionfruit”

Paramore are no stranger to BBC Radio 1, having frequented the Live Lounge with various lineups. Songs they’ve covered include “Love’s Not A Competition (But I’m Winning)” by the Kaiser Chiefs, “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon and “Matilda” by Alt-J. This time, Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro took to the studio to perform their single “Hard Times” and a cover of Drake’s summer smash “Passionfruit,” from his latest album More Life.

After Laughter, the band’s fifth studio album, was released just last month and has been receiving critical praise. They’ve just kicked off a world tour to support the record, in which they’ve been covering Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere.” During their Live Lounge performance, the trio also slips in a little bit of the singer-rapper’s “Hold On We’re Going Home,” which was a popular Live Lounge cover choice in 2013. It seems “Passionfruit” has replaced it, having already been covered by Mura Masa. John Mayer has also performed the tune live.
