Announcing The Paste Magazine East Austin Block Party Presented by Ilegal Mezcal

Next month, as we head to Austin, Texas, for SXSW, Paste will be throwing our biggest party yet at High Noon and Coral Snake March 13-15. The Paste East Austin Block Party Presented by Ilegal Mezcal will feature 63 bands over three days and four stages. We’ve listened to hundreds of acts who’ll be in town for the festival and have invited our favorites to perform on the outdoor Sun Stage and Agave Stage, the indoor stage at High Noon, and the Paste Sessions stage inside Coral Snake, where we’ll be taping 15 three-song sessions in front of a live audience.

Bands include former and upcoming Best of What’s Next artists Shalom, Searows and Mei Semones; Legendary Athens musician Vanessa Briscoe Hay’s Pylon Reenactment Society; Swedish sensation Waterbaby; North Mississippi Allstars frontman Luther Dickison; Billboard Music Awards nominees X Ambassadors; former Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys; New York post-rock trio City of the Sun; David Shaw of The Revivalists; and so many of other amazing established and emergent acts from around the globe. We listened to hundreds and hundreds of acts in town for SXSW and can’t wait to share our favorites with you down in Austin.

We’re partnering once again with Ilegal Mezcal, who’ll be giving away free screenprinted East Austin Block Party T-shirts, free live chain stitching and free flash tattoos by Scott Barbier. The bars will be serving Ilegal Mezcal-inspired cocktails, and Ilegal Mezcal GBA Gilbert Marquez will be among the event’s hosts.

The three-day extravaganza will be cohosted by our new friends at Jezebel and Splinter. It’s 21-and-up and free with RSVP here.

Here’s the lineup, with more bands to be announced soon:
