Pearl Jam Share First Single from Gigaton, “Dance of the Clairvoyants”

Pearl Jam’s new album Gigaton won’t be out until March 27, but fans can now get a taste of the sonic substance to come from “Dance of the Clairvoyants,” the first single from the forthcoming album, released Wednesday.

The song is definitely a far cry from Pearl Jam’s roots as a grunge band. The YouTube comments on the track make comparisons to David Bowie, the Talking Heads and even LCD Soundsystem—and none of it is that far off.

“‘Dance’ was a perfect storm of experimentation and real collaboration,” said the band’s Jeff Ament in a statement shared on Twitter. “We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting.”

Pearl Jam’s previous album was 2013’s Lightning Bolt, which largely reflected the band’s original rock sound. The band was then inducted to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
