Pharrell Reveals Lineup for New Something in the Water Festival in Virginia Beach

Pharrell Williams has announced the lineup for Something in the Water 2019, a brand new three-day music festival in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Va. Pharrell, Migos, Missy Elliott, Janelle Monáe, Travis Scott, SZA, Mac DeMarco, Rosalía, Jhene Aiko, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Dave Matthews Band, Diplo, Jaden Smith and Pusha T are all set to perform at the inaugural festival, along with several other artists.

While the exact performance schedules have yet to be announced, Something in the Water is scheduled to take place from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28. The festival is produced by promoter Live Nation, and tickets go on sale on the festival’s website on March 8 at 12 p.m. local time.

Rolling Stone reports that Something in the Water will include more than just musical performances. It will also feature a series of conversations and film screenings, including one hosted by director Ava DuVernay’s film distribution company Array, which focuses on encouraging women filmmakers and filmmakers of color. The company will host a screening of The Burial of Kojo by Samuel “Blitz” Bazawule.

Pharrell was presented with the Producer of the Year, Non-Classical award at this year’s Grammy Awards. His last solo album G I R L came out in 2014, and his band N.E.R.D.’s feature-laden latest album No_One Ever Really Dies arrived in 2017.
