Image via Pink Floyd RecordsPink Floyd have shared the details of their enormous forthcoming box-set chronicling their history from 1965-1972. Per Rolling Stone, the set will include audio of unreleased demos, outtakes and full songs and DVDs of television appearances, concert performances, interviews and three feature films.
The set, titled The Early Years 1965-1972, consists of 27 discs, replica seven-inch singles, poster and flyer memorabilia, and seven books, which also house the discs. It’s pretty much a collection of every little music-related move the band made during their first seven years of existence. The track count comes to a grand total of 130, and the hours of video footage total more than 15.
NME reports from a press release by Pink Floyd: ”[It] will give collectors the opportunity to hear the evolution of the band and witness their part in cultural revolutions from their earliest recordings and studio sessions to the years prior to the release of The Dark Side Of The Moon.”
Out on Nov. 11, you can pre-order The Early Years 1965-1972 on Amazon here for a tidy $699.98. For the fan who doesn’t drive a Ferrari and spend their days lounging in a smoking jacket, a two-disc set highlighting all that is found in the box-set will be available on Nov. 11, as well. The more conservative album, which you can preorder here, is titled Cre/ation- The Early Years 1965-1972 and includes 27 tracks, 19 of which were previously unreleased.
