The hard-working quartet from California known as Plague Vendor is continuing their relentless assault on the hearts and minds of the world this year. The band just announced that their second full-length By Night will be released on June 7th. And to sweeten the deal, they’ve unveiled the first video from this record, a clip directed by Dan Monick for the song “New Comedown.”
If you’re unfamiliar with Plague Vendor, the garage-post-punk band has been on the scene for the better part of this decade. Known for their sweaty and intense live performances, led by the rail thin wail of vocalist Brandon Blaine, the group was quickly snapped up by Epitaph Records and became favorites on the Warped Tour circuit.
The band’s new album, produced by John Congleton, is a further crystallization of their raw, dark sound with some fresh spit and polish (and a touch of electronics) to keep things evolving in the right direction. “New Comedown,” the lead track from By Night, sets the tone with a punishing bass line and one of Blaine’s best vocal performances to date.
