Daily Dose: Protomartyr, “Whatever Happened To The Saturn Boys?”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

Protomartyr have shared the previously unreleased “Whatever Happened To the Saturn Boys?” from the Domino Records reissue of their 2012, out-of-print debut album No Passion All Technique.

Lead singer Joe Casey said of wiping the dust from the unearthed track:

My memory is shot, but I appreciate now, looking back, how raw and off-the-cuff it was. There’s tons of mistakes in it and that wasn’t because we planned on it. We still can’t really admit that it’s as good as it is. You never want to say that your first is the best, but I’m happy that the first ended up not being terrible. It gave us doorway to what we’d want to do later.

The expanded digital version of the album, out today, includes all of its 13 original songs in addition to four bonus tracks from the same recording session.
