Kelley Deal of The Breeders to Join Protomartyr for String of Midwestern Shows

Kelley Deal of Dayton, Ohio, alternative band The Breeders will become a touring member of Detroit-based post-punk band Protomartyr for a string of Midwestern shows.

Deal and Protomartyr have collaborated a few times, most notably on the band’s celebrated 2018 Consolation E.P., where Deal’s vocals provide a dreamy aura to frontman Joe Casey’s bleak, commanding lyrics.

Protomartyr are currently working on their next album, their follow-up to 2017’s Relatives in Descent, and there’s certainly speculation that Deal will appear on the album.
