Pulp announce new live album and concert film
Live! will be released on August 28 via Rough Trade.
Do you remember the first time you saw Pulp live in concert? If it hasn’t happened yet, that’s kind of about to change. Following 2025’s More—the Sheffield heroes’ first album in nearly 25 years—Jarvis Cocker and the gang are back with a live album, aptly titled Live!, out August 28 on Rough Trade. Explaining the title, Cocker said: “It’s both a statement of fact (it’s a recording of a live band) & a challenge (come on! Everyone come alive!).” Pulp will also be playing an album release show at Wynthenshawe Park in Manchester on the release date.
In addition to the live album, a Garth Jennings-directed Pulp concert film titled Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore? will be available in the months following. Both the album and film feature recordings from Pulp’s 2025 sold-out show at The O2 London. A release date for the flm hasn’t been announced yet, but all you Common People out there can expect it to be available on MUBI sometime this fall.
In her review last year, Paste contributing writer Elise Soutar wrote, “More is the sound of life moving on, of time eroding us beautifully, and the miracles we’re lucky enough to have whack us in the face in the course of a day. Every moment is a moment for Pulp to sing for, and More meets them—and us—where we all are. Let’s pick another year to meet up soon.” Check out the artwork for Live! below.
