Pusha T Travels Through an 8-Bit World in Alt-J’s “In Cold Blood” Rework Video

We’re so glad that Pusha T is a fan of Alt-J, because now we have a great collaboration we never knew we needed. Alt-J announced earlier this month that they would be putting out a remixed version of their last album RELAXER. Our first taste of the soon-to-come album, REDUXER, was when the British indie trio teamed up with King Push and Twin Shadow to premiere a new version of “In Cold Blood” on Colbert.

On Tuesday, they shared the music video for the song, directed and created by digital artist Osean. In the clip, a faceless Pusha traverses a choppy, computer-generated landscape in search of a giant floating crystal. The old-school 3D animation style reminds us of playing Minecraft in our younger years.

Once Pusha reaches the crystal, it transports him to a different, slightly clearer universe, which Osean says is meant to represent the artists combining their styles on “In Cold Blood.” “Pusha and Alt-J have two completely different styles and coloring them together makes for an interesting sound,” he explained in a statement. “Instead of representing the 2 more so as a person to person, I decided to represent them as more person to experience, or person to land.” You can watch the video below.

In related news, Pusha T has canceled a number of shows on his tour in support of his acclaimed 2018 album Daytona. No official reason has been given, but venues have cited scheduling conflicts and unforeseen circumstances.
