Rainer Maria Share Fiery New Single “Forest Mattress”

Emo-rock pioneers Rainer Maria are set to release S/T, their first album since their reunion a few years back—and their first album in more than ten years—later this month. We’ve already been graced with two of its first songs, “Lower Worlds” and “Suicide And Lazy Eyes,” which, if anything, are evidence that the band are still as emotionally charged and beautifully intense as ever. Today we get another new track off the forthcoming record, “Forest Mattress.”

“Forest Mattress” continues in the trend of how perfectly executed these new songs are and adds to our excitement for the new record. The song is a fiery four-and-a-half-minute ride, with all the same jagged, intense instrumentation as the first two, plus a more cathartic finish.

S/T will be out Aug. 18 on Polyvinyl Records and the band will kick off their first tour since their reunion next month. Listen to “Forest Mattress” below.
