Real Estate Release Interactive, Color-Your-Own Music Video for “Stained Glass”
If Real Estate’s ruminating jangle-pop pastiche wasn’t already the soundtrack to an afternoon in a sunny park with adult coloring books, it cannot be denied any longer. The band has released an interactive music video for their single “Stained Glass.” Viewers can color in the band as they march along with their instruments, looking as if they’ve stepped straight out of Pepperland, while a gorgeous mosaic world of peaking mountains, kaleidoscopic clouds and an oddly detailed chorus of the bandmates’s heads blossom around them. It’s a slightly bizarre and irresistibly splendid experience you’re unlikely to find in any other music video this year.
As a cherry on top, the band also announced a fall leg of their tour, adding on dates in the Midwest and West Coast that will see them through November.
Real Estate’s fourth album, In Mind, was released this March. Read our review here, and find the band’s new tour dates—plus Paste Cloud audio from their 2009 Daytrotter Session—below.
