Rebounder Announce New EP, Share “Disco Ball Soul”

New York indie exports Rebounder have announced their new EP Sundress Songs, out August 25th. Lead single “Disco Ball Soul” has been unveiled, alongside a tongue-in-cheek black and white music video. A feeling of levity pervades the song, and no surprise: it was “initially about the frustrations of being a Knicks fan,” per frontman Dylan Chenfeld. As the track morphed, though, it became a more holistic representation of the band’s playful approach to young adulthood, the world whizzing around you as you try to find a place for yourself in it.

The punchy vocals and energetic instrumentals of “Disco Ball Soul” are mainstays for Rebounder, whose rakish lyrics and catchy guitar hooks have watched them rise slowly through the East Coast indie ranks. In Sundress Songs, the band looks to tweak at the fundamentals of 2000s indie-pop with a nouveau-techy touch.
