Listen to Regina Spektor’s New Single, “Black and White”

Singer/songwriter Regina Spektor has released a new single from her forthcoming album, Remember Us to Life, which will be available Sept. 30. The new song, titled “Black and White,” is the third track that has been released from the new album.

“Black and White” is an easy-listening ballad reminiscent of “Laughing With” from 2009’s Far. Spektor’s new track is a stark contrast from the two previously released singles, “Small Bill$” and “Bleeding Heart,” but the contrast is anything but odd.

In “Small Bill$,” Spektor raps over layered minor-chord instrumentation, while “Bleeding Heart” hints at an electronic influence. Collectively, the three singles highlight the range of Spektor’s ability to maintain her unique style while evolving artistically. If the three tracks are any indication of what is to come, Remember Us to Life may be Spektor’s most sophisticated album to date. Listen to “Black and White” below.
