Last weekend, Riot Fest celebrated its 20th anniversary at Douglass Park in Chicago, hitting the Windy City with three rousing days of loud rock and roll (and some softer, surfier stuff, too). Headliners Blink-182, Weezer, and Green Day were dependably good, but the festival’s greatest moments came from some unlikely suspects, like a John Stamos-assisted Beach Boys lineup, Sparks, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Hanson. Of course, GWAR was there, decapitating an Elon Musk doll. Longtime Paste favorites like Rilo Kiley, The Wonder Years, IDLES, Dehd, Superchunk, Wishy, and Lambrini Girls were also present and accounted for.
