Robyn Releases Diverse, Twitter-Cast Music Video for “Honey”
Image via Robyn/YouTube, Mike Coppola/GettySwedish electro-pop queen Robyn has released the music video for “Honey,” the title track from her latest album.
In September, Robyn released a casting call via Twitter, searching for “people who love music and love to dance in their own way,” and placing an emphasis on “body types and ethnic background diversity.” At the time, it was a mystery as to which track she was casting the video for, but now it is clear that the call was for “Honey.”

The video embraces both the catharsis—through movement, because, of course—and sexual liberation associated with Robyn’s dance-floor anthems. A truly assorted cast of dancers is shown in what appears to be a warehouse, embracing and dancing however they’re so inclined.
Said director Max Vitali in a statement, “As with any video, or anything in life at all in fact, it’s all about having great people around. We had amazing, beautiful people that brought amazing, beautiful energy, both in front of and behind the camera, and I hope that comes across.”
Robyn’s Honey made Paste’s best albums of 2018 list, coming in at No. 19. It also provided No. 5 on our best songs of 2018 through lead single “Missing U.” Check out the music video below and find Robyn’s 2019 tour dates in support of the album further down.
