Robyn, the world’s self-proclaimed Fembot queen, released the music video for Honey album closer “Ever Again” on Monday morning.
Wearing a custom-made Louis Vutton bodysuit, Robyn blends in with the greek statues that surround her on an impressionistically colored soundstage. She describes the space as “a dreamy place, somewhere undefined, somewhere in my unconsciousness.” Breaking her statuesque image, Robyn dances with her microphone stand, weaponizing her sensuality to celebrate human connection and self-care. Director Colin Solal Cardo gets up close and personal with Robyn, carefully capturing the emotive choreography in equal parts with her headspace.
Like all of Honey, “Ever Again” is an undulating groove; Robyn has an undeniable power to heighten synth-pop into something more, finding moments of catharsis in atmospheric instrumentation and empowering lyrics. Check out our full review of Honey here.
