Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever Bring “The Hammer” Down on New Hope Downs Track

With only single-digit days left before the June 15 release of their much-anticipated album Hope Downs, Melbourne’s Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have shared one last single and announced their biggest headlining tour yet, including over a dozen new North American dates.

The Aussie indie-rock quintet’s album-closing cut “The Hammer” comes on the heels of three previous singles, “Mainland,” “Talking Straight” and “An Air Conditioned Man.” Hope Downs itself follows Rolling Blackouts C.F.’s acclaimed Sub Pop debut, stellar 2017 EP The French Press, and their first EP, Talk Tight, which they self-released back in 2015 after forming in 2013.

Rolling Blackouts C.F.’s massive tour in support of Hope Downs has already taken them through North America (including their first-ever U.S. run), Europe and the U.K., where they’ve sold out headlining shows and performed at high-profile festivals like Coachella, The Great Escape, Primavera and Shaky Knees. Their newly unveiled dates take them through the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K. (where they play tonight) and Europe over the next four months, with sets at Lowlands (Netherlands), Pukkelpop (Belgium) and other festivals still to be announced. The North American leg of their new tour starts in San Diego, Calif. on Aug. 25, dotting the West Coast, Midwest and East Coast before concluding in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 17.

Listen to “The Hammer” below and find the band’s tour dates further down—new North American shows are in bold. You can preorder Hope Downs here.
