Saintseneca’s Zac Little Wanders Around in Search of a Glowing Ladder in “Ladder to the Sun” Video

Last month, Saintseneca announced the release of their fourth album, Pillar of Na, through ANTI- Records on Aug. 31, along with a slew of supporting tour dates beginning right around when the album drops. They also released the first single from the album, “Frostbiter,” a nostalgic folk-rock track with what singer Zac Little called punk-rock influences.

On Monday, they shared the second taste of the album with the release of “Ladder to the Sun.” The song is surprisingly peppy and energetic, despite being written in a moment of frustration and sadness. Little told The Fader in an email that he “found this tune when I needed it … Its revelation felt like a productive cry. It felt good to sing—railing against certainty, cherishing a place where I could be surprised, even mystified.”

“Ladder to the Sun” also comes with a music video, co-directed by Little and Jon Washington. It focuses on the singer wandering through a dark and often wooded environment in search of a glow-in-the-dark ladder. You can watch it below and listen to a 2012 Saintseneca performance from the Paste archives.
