L.A. singer-songwriter Sam Valdez is gearing up to release a new EP on June 28th (via Nevado Music) called Mirage, which is the appropriate title for this collection of hazy, dreamy tunes that brings a roots-rock swing to the sounds of dream pop. And to prepare our weary minds for it, she is premiering her new video (directed by Nick Petty and Seannie Bryan) for “Farther Away” with us today.
True to the direct and unpretentious nature of Valdez’s lyrics, she says of this clip, “The desert had so much to do with every aspect of writing the record, ‘Farther Away’ is a glimpse of where that came from.” ‘Nuff said.
