Saudi Actor Arrested for Dabbing, Quickly Apologizes
Abdallah Al Shahani called his move "spontaneous" and "unintended."
A Saudi Arabian actor and television host has been arrested for dabbing in public, according to the BBC.
According to the report, Abdallah Al Shahani was performing at a music festival in the southwestern city of Taif over the weekend when he briefly broke into a dab move, tucking his head into the crook of his right arm. Dabbing is officially banned in Saudi Arabia. A poster created by the Saudi Ministry’s National Commission for Combating Drugs cautions citizens “about the dangers of this on the youth and society, and is warning against imitating it.”
Al Shahani apologized on Twitter for the move, saying it was “spontaneous” and “unintended.”
