Savannah Stopover Music Festival has announced the first wave of confirmed performers for the festival’s tenth iteration. Showcasing a slew of Savannah Stopover first-timers, up-and-coming groups and fan favorites over the past decade, the festival’s 10th anniversary comes with a sizzling lineup.
The first weekend of March is set to be jam-packed and sees several groups making their first appearances at Savannah Stopover. Charleston folk-rock band Shovels & Rope will be headlining on Friday, March 6, 2020, together with Denver’s own DeVotchKa—known for their Grammy-nominated soundtrack for the Academy Award-winning film Little Miss Sunshine—who will be performing at the festival for the very first time in a historic church.
Saturday, March 7, 2020, features headliners CAAMP, whose most recent album, By And By, was highlighted in “Paste’s 10 New Albums to Stream Today” in July. The rising band recently performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and have garnered two million monthly listeners on Spotify. Durand Jones & The Indications, “the new kings of lowrider soul, mixing rich, retro harmonies in thoroughly modern ways,” as a press release describes them, will bring their unique and beloved brand of R&B to the festival on the same day.
“Stopover has always been a place for true music lovers—an affordable, walkable festival that spotlights the best rising talent, regional favorites, and Savannah’s vibrant music scene in one of the most beautiful historic districts in the world,” said founder Kayne Lanahan in a statement. “Maintaining that feeling of intimacy and camaraderie for bands and fans alike has been a joy for the last ten years.”
