Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings have released a new video for “Searching for a New Day,” off Jones’ posthumous, final album, Soul Of A Woman, out now via Daptone Records.
Legendary soul singer Jones passed away at age 60 in 2016 and released her final studio album last November, which was included in Paste’s 50 best albums of 2017.
“Searching for a New Day” is a modern jazz/soul track featuring funky guitars and a trumpet solo, with Jones’ powerful, unmistakable voice leading the way.
The new music video includes clips of Jones performing live, highlighting her legacy and timeless appeal that will inevitably inspire a whole new generation of musicians and fans alike.
