Listen to a New Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings Song from Forthcoming Documentary Soundtrack

Last month, the trailer for the Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings documentary Miss Sharon Jones! was released.

Today, the film’s official soundtrack has been unveiled. The album consists of 16 tracks spanning everything from Jones’ early singles on Daptone Records to the Dap Kings’ 2014 album Give the People What They Want.

It also includes the exclusive song “I’m Still Here,” which is available for streaming here. The song touches on the many obstacles Jones was forced to face before finding success with The Dap Kings, including references to her years as a Rikers Island security guard and growing up in a segregated 1960s New York.

The album is available for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play and will see release on Aug. 19.
