Watch Smashing Pumpkins Survive a Haunted House in Video for “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)”

Embracing the spirit of the season, Smashing Pumpkins have released a Halloween-inspired video for their latest single “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts).”

Directed by Billy Corgan, the video features each of the members involved in the band’s semi-reunion: Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and Jeff Schroeder. Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray sets the scene, playing an over-enthusiastic radio show host who has recruited the band for a spooky promotion. In order to earn money for their chosen charity, the band has to survive one night in a haunted house while the event is “live-streamed.” The quartet encounter all sorts of ghoulish beings within the house as the night progresses, with shots of the group performing displayed on screens throughout the house.

The single is taken from Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. (Nov. 16), the band’s first album featuring founding members Corgan, Iha and Chamberlin in 18 years. It follows the lead single off the LP, “Solara,” released earlier this year. The band is currently on tour in support of the album through the end of 2018.
