Paste Ilegal Sessions: Watch Stella Prince in Atlanta
Paste Studio “On The Road” joined our friends at Ilegal Mezcal for a day of Paste sessions at Atlanta’s Wild Heaven West End, right as Hurricane Helene was making its way north from Florida’s coast. Only two artists braved the weather, and young folkster Stella Prince made the drive all the way down from Nashville to perform. The Woodstock, NY, native moved to Nashville, where she’s been described as “carrying the banner for a new generation of folk musicians.” Her debut EP Dear Future Me was already picked by No Depression as one of the best albums of 2024.

Prince kicked off her set with “Two Faced,” the lead single from her EP with the haunting refrain, “loneliness is two-faced.” It’s a great introduction to her lilting voice and distinctive guitar picking.
“Two Faced”
Growing up in Woodstock, her first concert was Levon Helm, and she got to sing with Helm and folk legend Pete Singer. That upbringing colored songs like “What’s Mine.”
“What’s Mine”
Prince played all these songs over in Europe on her first tour of the continent, playing in front of 3,000 people at a festival in France before returning home to play this year’s Americana Fest. She finished her Paste Studio session with the title track of Dear Future Me.

Big thanks to Stella Prince and our friends at Ilegal Mezcal for bringing these sessions to life, and please stay tuned for more Paste x Ilegal sessions to come!
